About Framing:

Picking out a frame is the final step in bringing an artwork into your home and space. When choosing a frame the three most important things to consider are: the style of artwork, the contrast and colours of the artwork, and the space you want it to be a part of.

Landscapes and other artworks with fully coloured backgrounds often suit a wooden or more ornate frame, think texture and carving and maybe some gold leaf. Pieces with more negative space or higher contrast often benefit from a frame with smoother lines and simple colours.

A lot of Sarah’s pieces lean more on the classical side, and really suit wooden, gilded and vintage frames. In contrast, some of her lighter pieces (such as Yellow and Spring) can really suit a simple black, brown or even white frame.

There are exceptions to all of these rules, and it is always best to compare your options and go with your heart. Below are some examples of framed artworks.
