Sarah Elliott is an oil painter, printmaker and artist currently living in Tasmania.
Her work holds a distinctive, surrealist style which references memories, daydreams, music, and ephemeral space. Through these intricate narratives Sarah’s paintings depict experiences and feelings that are tangible and complex.
Her drypoint etchings are each printed by hand and convey a darker, more fairy-tale like narrative, with winding trees, rolling clouds and figures often caught between spaces of the discernible and dream-like.
Sarahs creative process is dynamic and ever-changing. She often returns to pieces over a period of time and incorporates new stories and symbols which can completely alter the tone and interpretation of the piece. It is through this unique creative process that Sarah’s pieces evoke such an affecting impression and narrative.
